The Pre-Deployment Brief covers deployment cycles, what to expect during this time, speaking to subject matter experts (SMEs, for example Legal), and being prepared to deploy. Active duty service members who are deploying or going TAD in excess of 30 days are encouraged to attend this brief. Spouses are invited to attend as well. The Family Care Plan (FCP) portion of the workshop shows active duty service members and their families how to create an effective FCP. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the basic needs and areas of consideration when creating their plan. All service members with dependents are required to have a family care plan.
